We are seeking a Chief Financial Officer to join our team on a full-time, ongoing basis. The role will be based at Sydney Olympic Park with hybrid work options.

We offer a competitive salary to the right candidate with total remuneration package ranging from $238,902 up to $263,005 per annum inclusive of superannuation.

About The Role

The Chief Financial Officer is responsible for guiding and supervising the Office of Sport's strategic financial management and accounting operations. This involves taking the lead in developing and reporting the annual budget, providing strategic advice to the Executive Director, Corporate and Chief Executive, particularly in relation to the financial implications of future programs and services; managing key internal and external stakeholders such as NSW Treasury and key executives within the Office of Sport. Additionally, the role focuses on facilitating informed financial decision-making including the review of best practice reporting and financial analysis tools and systems for the Office of Sport.

About You

Our ideal candidate will possess the following attributes:

Financial leadership experience at senior executive level within a complex, multifunctional organisation.
Proven competency, drive and innovation, showcasing knowledge of relevant legislation, Government directions and policies relating to financial management and accounting.
Proven track record in change management and modernisation of finance functions and financial management.
Demonstrated customer service orientation and the ability to influence key stakeholders to achieve business outcomes.

Essential Requirements

Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Business, Finance, Economics or commerce or other relevant field.
Certification of membership in a recognised professional accounting institution such as CPA, CA or IPA.
National Criminal Record and Probity check.
