Position Overview



As a leader of the Finance team, you will be involved in all aspects of financial accounting, analysis, reporting and governance. You will be based in our corporate office in Toronto and will work closely with the CFO and executive team, driving collaboration across all teams in the business. You will also have the opportunity to visit the company’s engineering and production facilities (currently in Kingston, Ontario) periodically. You will report to the CFO and work with external service providers including accountants, auditors, bankers, suppliers and customers.

The ideal candidate will enjoy a fast-paced environment, the challenge of rapid growth and evolving priorities and the ability to make a meaningful contribution to the growth of the company.


Responsibilities



Managing accounting functions and programs
Preparing financial analysis and reports
Preparing journal entries for month-end closing, accrual entries, credit card, prepaid expenses, accrual account reconciliations.
Maintaining and reconciling balance sheet and general ledger accounts
Managing annual audit preparations
Investigating and resolving audit findings, account discrepancies and issues or non-compliance
Responsible for daily/weekly KPI reports
Coordination of all benefits and payroll processes
Assisting the CFO with month end and year end financials and any day-to-day accounting/financial tasks that might be required (bank recs, invoicing, payments, payroll, etc.)


What you bring:



CPA designation or equivalent
Must have bookkeeping or accounting experience
Understanding of full-cycle accounting
Experience with month-end financial statement preparation
Preference for experience with Quickbooks, DEXT (expense processing), Plooto (payment processing), Wagepoint (payroll software), and/or any ERP solution.
Proven ability to multitask and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
Well versed in Microsoft Office – including advanced knowledge of Excel and Word
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
