As the Head of Innovation and Product Development, you will be responsible for setting up and managing the R&D team for contact lens products. This includes overseeing the end-to-end R&D process to ensure that product functions are realized as planned and introduced into the market with a competitive edge. You will undertake technical feasibility assessments, product safety risk evaluations, optical and structural design, material verification, and process development to achieve key milestones efficiently.
Furthermore, you will establish a comprehensive understanding of the contact lens industry, build an effective innovation network, participate in creating product innovation roadmaps, conduct technical pre-research, and strategically plan patent layouts. Additionally, you will be required to ensure perfect establishment and effective management of Class III medical device R&D systems to comply with medical device regulations.
The ideal candidate for this role should possess a Master's degree or above in optics, optometry, biomedical engineering or related fields. A minimum of 5 years' experience in medical device research and development is required. Candidates with previous experience in contact lens or other Class III ophthalmic medical devices are preferred. Strong analytical skills, problem-solving capabilities, communication skills, ability to work under pressure, efficiency in execution, project management skills are essential qualities we are looking for in potential candidates.
