Job Summary
Preparation of the Statutory Quarterly/Annual Financial statements
Ensure accurate and timely Management Reporting to Local Management / Group, and Regulatory Reporting
Ensure accurate and timely submission of regulatory obligations including ICAAP, recovery plan, liquidity reporting
Ensure compliance and implementation of the Central Bank, and Group accounting policies and standards
Manage Capital and Liquidity planning to ensure regulatory requirements are met.
Responsibilities
Strategy
Refocusing for a stronger Finance: Streamline how we operate and ease workload while also reducing cost. We continue to refocus the function, seeking opportunities to eliminate complexity and duplication in our services and ensure we align our resources more closely with the businesses.
Financial Reporting
Ensure accurate and timely Financial Reporting to Local, Regional Management and Statutory Reporting to Local Regulators,
Accurate and timely submission of Quarterly/Annual audited Financial Statements to the Regulators
Ensure compliance and implementation of the Central Bank and Group accounting policies and standards
Drive the improvement of processes with regard to the above with a view to enhancing cost effectiveness, efficiency, accuracy and integrity of the numbers reported.
Perform monthly reviews of the trial balance.
Work with GIA on closing out any audit issues emanating from Audits.
Coordinate with business finance to get quality analysis of results and financials: income, cost, debt charge, yields and balance sheet.
Balance Sheet Management
Collaborate with Head of BS, ALM, and the Business and Regional Treasurer on the following:-
Country's structural limits
Liquidity and Capital management initiatives including back testing of liquidity assumptions
Support Group Treasury initiatives on balance sheet management to meet regulatory requirements.
Work with CFO/Group Treasury on any ALCO / Balance Sheet initiatives.
Work on yearly review of balance sheet manual and FTP
Work with the CFO, and regional treasury on the regulatory submissions including ICAAP, recovery plan, liquidity management
Work with the CFO on ALCO requirements
Ensure efficient Capital and liquidity management including CAR, LCR, NSFR
People & Talent
Manage operational risk of the finance function through application of Group Financial Control Policy and the Operation Risk Management Framework.
Provide strong leadership to the finance function; attract, retain and develop finance professionals in the team, to effectively support and advice the business.
As a senior member in the Finance function, actively drive and participate in learning & development initiatives to continue to build the skills of the function to meet the changing demands of the industry and provide a pipeline of talent for the function and the Bank.
Embed a high-performance culture and ensure a robust approach is taken to deliver high quality succession pipelines.
Actively contribute in Finance Projects from accounting, compliance and controls aspect.
Risk Management
Identifying, assessing, monitoring, controlling and mitigating risks to the branch, as well as an awareness and understanding of the main risks facing the branch and the ability to interpret the branch's financial information, identify key risks and put in place appropriate controls and measures. Act as the process risk control owner under the Group's Risk Management Framework (including relevant Operational Risk Framework ownership.
Finance operational risk, controls and governance
Maintain the robustness and integrity of the General Ledger with complete balance sheet substantiation, account controls.
Comply with the Money Laundering Prevention Procedures and the Code of Conduct of the Bank. Be alert at all times to unusual or possibly suspicious customer activity, and must report promptly any such activity to the Country MLPO.
Comply with the Operational Risk Management Framework (ORMF)
Other Responsibilities
Adhere to Group's brand and values in Egypt / Finance / reporting and Balance Sheet Management; Perform other responsibilities assigned under Group, Country, Business or Functional policies and procedures; Multiple functions (double hats)
To ensure compliance and implementation of CBE and Group accounting policies.
To strongly support the Finance Vision and Transformation agenda.
To comply with Money Laundering Prevention Procedures and the Code of Conduct. To be alert at all times to unusual or possibly suspicious customer activity and must report promptly any such activity to the Country MLPO.
Our Ideal Candidate
10 -15 years' extensive experience covering all key disciplines of banking and finance, including regulatory reporting, BS management, various segments banking, strategic planning, and budgeting
The job-holder deals with highly complex business problems, conditions and constraints and needs to resolve issues at both macro and micro levels.
He/She must understand market dynamics / conditions across Egypt / region and adopt a multi-disciplinary approach within the bank, while recommending the course of action for enhancing the profitability and service delivery.
The job-holder directs and monitors the course of action of structural Liquidity management, capital, projects and support initiatives undertaken for the Balance sheet management.
The job holder analyses, evaluates and recommends the course of action to be taken on strategic issues and key business drivers such as performance levels, processes & procedures etc.
Highly developed analytical and strategic thinking skills with strong organizational and leadership abilities and creativity. Previous experience of managing small teams of skilled individuals
Sound knowledge of information technology.
Certifications / Professional Education in accounting are required
CPA/MBA / Dip IFR/ ACCA / CMA or equivalent, Preferred.
