Adeso is seeking a Deputy Executive Director (Operations & Programs) to join its team in Nairobi Headquarters office.
The Deputy Executive Director (DED – Operations & Programs) will play a crucial role as a senior executive within the organization's leadership team. Reporting directly to the Executive Director, the DED will be responsible for developing and executing internal operational and program strategies essential for achieving Adeso's goals as a non-profit entity. This individual will serve as the second-in-command at Adeso, ensuring organizational efficiency across operations and programs.
Key responsibilities for the DED (Operations & Programs) include providing strategic leadership by overseeing multi-year strategic plans in alignment with Adeso's brand values. The incumbent will manage finance and operations systems by implementing policies that support the organization's culture and vision while ensuring legal compliance across all country operations. Additionally, the DED will lead in setting goals for program quality and learning, grant management compliance, fundraising pipeline monitoring, grants management effectiveness, contractual relationships with stakeholders, and continuous improvement within programs.
Ideal candidates should have at least seven years of experience in an executive leadership role within the nonprofit sector. They must possess excellent people skills, business acumen, strategic planning competency, organizational project management skills with a track record of delivering plans on time and within budget. A degree in Business Management or related field is required along with exceptional capacity for managing people effectively at all levels within an organization.
