GFNE is seeking a Director of Communications to lead and execute a comprehensive global communications strategy. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in amplifying GFNE’s impact by ensuring cohesive communication across diverse audiences including funders, policymakers, civil society, and the media. Success in this role involves increasing engagement with core audiences through strategic messaging while maintaining quality content and managing communication risks effectively to enhance global positioning.
The Director of Communications will be responsible for developing and executing a global communications strategy that aligns with GFNE’s goals, managing media relations including press engagement and thought leadership positioning, overseeing content development for newsletters and digital storytelling, strengthening brand identity through strategic messaging campaigns, acting as a liaison across teams for alignment in communication efforts, establishing internal and external communication policies systems. The ideal candidate should have significant experience in strategic communications or public relations within philanthropy or policy-driven organizations with strong media relations skills in crisis management. Proficiency in digital communication tools/platforms is required along with excellent written/verbal communication skills. Additional languages are desirable but not required.
