All Voting is Local is a multistate, nonpartisan organization dedicated to fighting against state and local voting policies that suppress voters of color and historically marginalized communities. Our mission extends beyond election years, focusing on building bridges with election officials to expand ballot access and advocating for fair voter registration rules. We are seeking an experienced Senior Communications Manager who is proactive, deadline-driven, and inclusive. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with colleagues at all levels, external partners, the State Communications Director, and state staff to shape public narratives in four of the eight states where All Voting has a presence.
As the Senior Communications Manager, you will be responsible for creating media relations materials such as press releases, op-eds, advisories, and digital content. You will work with the Digital Communications Manager to develop social media campaigns aligned with organizational objectives. Collaborating with state staff and the State Communications Director, you will devise communication plans integrating traditional media tactics with innovative digital strategies. Managing media availabilities and preparing organization principals for high-level engagements are also key responsibilities.
The ideal candidate should hold a Bachelor's degree in communications or related fields with at least four years of media relations experience. Strong writing skills, relationship-building abilities with reporters, organizational prowess across multiple projects and states, familiarity with technology tools like Google Suite and social media platforms are essential requirements. Experience or knowledge of voting rights issues is desirable.
