As the Senior Contracts Manager, you will play a pivotal role in leading all activities related to the formation, tendering, award, and administration of contract packages. Your responsibilities will include overseeing critical tasks from project setup to team development and establishing procedures for quality and safety standards. You will collaborate closely with project management teams, departments, customers, and stakeholders to ensure alignment on systems and processes essential for project success.
Reporting directly to the Commercial Director or Construction Director, you will engage with customers to develop strategic approaches while providing guidance on resolving change events, claims, and disputes effectively. In the pre-award phase, you will handle contract formation activities such as issuing tender packages, evaluating proposals, conducting bid clarification meetings, and preparing contract documents for execution. During the post-award phase, you will manage contracts administration activities by monitoring compliance with terms and conditions, resolving claims promptly, and ensuring timely handover of deliverables.
To qualify for this role, you must possess a degree in Business, Quantity Surveying, Law, Engineering or related field along with a minimum of 20 years of experience in Contracts or Commercial Management. Ideal candidates should demonstrate strong leadership skills suitable for managing diverse workforces on mega-projects. Proficiency in contract law principles, negotiation strategies, planning techniques along with effective communication abilities both orally and in writing are essential.
