As a Process Engineer at Duncan & Ross, you will play a crucial role in designing, optimizing, and troubleshooting process systems within onshore gas compression plants. Your responsibilities will include developing process simulations, equipment sizing, and ensuring compliance with industry standards to meet operational goals effectively. You will be tasked with creating process flow diagrams (PFDs), piping & instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), heat & material balances for gas compression facilities. Additionally, you will perform mass & energy balance calculations for natural gas compression processes and associated units.
In this role, you will design and optimize compressor stations, dehydration units, gas metering systems, and fuel gas treatment facilities. Utilizing tools such as Aspen HYSYS or UniSim for process simulations will allow you to optimize compression operations efficiently. Furthermore, you will be responsible for sizing and specifying various equipment including gas compressors (reciprocating, centrifugal, screw), coolers, separators, heat exchangers, and pressure vessels. Ensuring designs comply with industry codes such as API 618, API 619, ASME B31.3 is essential for maintaining safety standards.
