DETAILED RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead the operational and business unit audit section.
Execute internal audit plan for financial audit section in accordance with the IIA’s IPPF and the department operating manual.
Perform an ongoing risk assessment of the business.
Assist in the development of audit program/ procedures to assess effectiveness of internal controls, accuracy of financial reporting, IT controls, efficiency of operations, and compliance with policies and procedures, applicable financial reporting standards and requirements, and safeguarding of assets.
Report significant issues related to processes and controls, including risks inherent in and potential improvements to those processes and controls.
Review the implementation of new systems and procedures to ensure the adequacy of internal controls.
Provide guidance and supervision for activities carried out by internal audit team members ensuring the efficiency and effectiveness of audit work.
Update the Chief Audit Executive of the status of the audits in progress and of any significant issues on a timely basis.
Provide a first level review of working paper documentation to ensure the documentation supports the audit work.
EXPERIENCE/ SKILLS & COMPETENCIES/TRAININGS REQUIRED BY THE JOB:
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance/Business or any other related field.
A minimum of 10-15 years’ experience.
Professional Certification as follow: CPA or ACCA or ICAEW or CIA.
Leadership skills - Motivate the Internal Audit team to provide high quality audit services by providing positive leadership, reviewing their work, training, and developing team members.
Excellent reputation for integrity and teamwork.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong executive presence.
