Project Director

EOR in Africa is a leading organization dedicated to driving sustainable energy solutions across the continent. We are currently seeking an experienced Project Director to oversee the delivery of an exciting utility-scale solar project in Zambia. The ideal candidate for this role will have a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering or a related technical field, along with additional qualifications in project management or finance. With a minimum of 7+ years of experience leading renewable energy projects, particularly in solar PV, candidates should have proven expertise in project development, senior project leadership, or project director roles. Experience working on projects in Africa or other emerging markets is highly desirable, as is familiarity with EPC contracts, project financing documentation, and budget control.

As the Project Director, your responsibilities will include leading the project from financial close to commercial operation and handover. You will be tasked with building and managing a high-performance internal and external project team, overseeing various workstreams such as commercial, legal, environmental, and social aspects of the project. Maintaining key relationships with contractors, sponsors, lenders, and regulatory authorities will be crucial, along with proactively managing risks, timelines, reporting requirements, and compliance standards.

• Minimum 7+ years of experience leading renewable energy projects, ideally solar PV
