Manufacturing Manager

As the Manufacturing Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the manufacturing and maintenance of processing and packaging areas. You will lead a team focused on driving operational excellence through disciplined processes and measures. Your role will involve ensuring that production activities meet customer requirements in terms of quality, quantity, and on-time delivery at the lowest possible cost. Safety, quality control, cost management, and employee development are key aspects of this position.

Key responsibilities include managing the manufacturing team to deliver projects within budget and on time, optimizing asset availability through effective maintenance management, enhancing safety protocols for employees and food products, ensuring product quality through clear decision-making processes, managing costs efficiently without compromising safety or quality, fostering a culture of continuous improvement within the manufacturing team, developing direct reports through training initiatives, providing insights into operational excellence as part of the Operations Management team, executing Capex planning activities, and being accountable for GMR2 compliance.

To qualify for this role, candidates must possess an Operations or Engineering or Business Degree/Diploma with a minimum of 8 years of experience in manufacturing, engineering, packaging, project management in a food manufacturing environment. Additionally, candidates should have 3-5 years of managerial experience in an FMCG environment with demonstrated leadership skills. Knowledge of Quality & Food Safety regulations as well as experience with Lean Manufacturing Principles is essential.

• Minimum of 8 Years Manufacturing, Engineering and Packaging experience
• Minimum 8 Years Project/Capex management experience in a Food manufacturing environment
• 3 – 5 Years of managerial experience within an FMCG environment
• Operations or Engineering or Business Degree/Diploma
• Working knowledge of Quality & Food Safety as well as Safety regulations
• Experience with Lean Manufacturing Principles

• Ensuring the Manufacturing Team delivers in full, on time and within budget
• Manage the Maintenance function to ensure the optimal availability of assets to meet production requirements
• Safety through the drive for constant progress in employee Safety as well as food Safety with the intent to improve our employee’s wellbeing and delivering a safe product for consumers
• Effective management of costs whilst seeking opportunities for saving without compromising Safety, Quality or Efficiency
