As the General Manager, you will play a strategic leadership role by managing opencast mining operations and ensuring safe, efficient, and cost-effective delivery of coal to processing facilities. Responsibilities include providing operational oversight across the mining value chain, developing long-term mine development strategies, collaborating with the CFO on budget management, leading the senior management team within mining function, championing a strong safety culture, engaging with key stakeholders for alignment with strategic goals, monitoring team performance and conducting evaluations for leadership development.

To be successful in this role, candidates must possess a Master’s degree in Commerce, Business Studies or related field along with at least 10 years of experience in mining operations including 3-5 years in senior management. Experience in mining legislation, strong financial acumen, knowledge of procurement processes and logistics supply chains are essential. Additionally, candidates should have a solid understanding of mining risk management and conflict resolution strategies.
