We are currently looking for a Wind Farm Plant Manager (GMR 2.1 Certified) to take charge of operations and maintenance at a wind farm cluster located in the Eastern Cape region. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of the plant while overseeing contractors, maintaining compliance with regulations, and fostering strong relationships with stakeholders.
As the successful candidate for this role, you will have access to free housing and site allowance in addition to a competitive basic package. Your key responsibilities will include overseeing O&M activities across multiple wind farms within the cluster, ensuring compliance with GMR 2.1 regulations and the South African Grid Code, monitoring maintenance schedules per OEM specifications, troubleshooting faults to minimize downtime, managing SCADA systems for performance monitoring, and overseeing MV/HV switching operations.
In order to be considered for this position, you must hold a B.Eng/M.Eng or related Degree in Engineering or a technical field, be GCC Certified (Government Certificate of Competency), possess at least 5 years of experience in Wind Farm O&M or industrial power plant operations, demonstrate strong knowledge of MV/HV equipment and grid code compliance, show proficiency in various software systems such as SAP and SAS, have experience in contractor management and safety enforcement practices.
