NOMAC, a leading provider of Operation & Maintenance services for power production and water desalination projects globally, is seeking an Operations Manager to lead the department in South Africa. The Operations Manager will oversee all operations and laboratory activities in line with contractual requirements and defined quality, cost & HSE standards to ensure efficient achievement of production targets while maintaining operational efficiency.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing the Operations-departmental strategy aligned with the Plant’s overall strategy, reporting operational activities to senior management regularly, contributing to budget preparation and variance analysis, cascading operational strategies into production plans, managing power generation operations efficiently while prioritizing safety and quality, overseeing maintenance programs to minimize downtime, monitoring plant chemistry and laboratory activities for quality control, ensuring compliance with health, safety, security & environmental policies across the department.

Additionally, the Operations Manager will manage inventory and services contracts impacting plant operations effectively, implement IMS objectives within the department to ensure compliance during audits, and lead a team by setting objectives, managing performance, providing feedback for maximum performance. Ideal candidates should hold a Bachelor's degree in Engineering with 12-15 years of experience in complex production plants within the power sector. South African nationality is preferred.

Key Job Requirements:
  • 12-15 years of experience in progressively complex production plants with strong experience in the power sector

  • Bachelor degree holder in Engineering
  • Preferably South African national
