Operations Manager

NOMAC, a leading provider of Operation & Maintenance services for power production and water desalination projects globally, is currently seeking an Operations Manager to join their team in South Africa. The ideal candidate will lead the Operations department of the plant, managing all operations and laboratory-related activities to ensure effective achievement of production targets while maintaining operational efficiency.

As the Operations Manager, you will be responsible for developing the Operations-departmental strategy in alignment with the overall Plant’s strategy. You will also contribute to budget preparation and actively participate in budget variance analysis to identify areas of improvement. Additionally, you will oversee operations planning by cascading the Plant’s operational strategy into production plans and effectively scheduling plant shift operations.

Furthermore, you will lead all aspects of power generation within the plant, troubleshoot operational issues, review daily reports, conduct operational management meetings, and provide technical recommendations to improve equipment reliability. You will also collaborate with the Maintenance department to plan maintenance programs and ensure timely repair of critical equipment.

The successful candidate must hold a Bachelor's degree in Engineering with 12-15 years of experience in complex production plants within the power sector. Strong leadership skills, excellent planning abilities, conceptual thinking, and knowledge of power generation operations are essential. Effective communication skills, people management abilities, emergency management skills, and a thorough understanding of contractual obligations are also required.

• 12-15 years of experience in progressively complex production plants with strong experience in the power sector
• Experience in operational management
