Proficient Packaging, a leading company in the plastics manufacturing industry in South Africa, is currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Flexible Plastics Extrusion Supervisor to join our dynamic team. As the Flexible Plastics Extrusion Supervisor, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the operational management of extrusion processes to ensure production targets are met efficiently and effectively. You will be responsible for planning, organizing, and supervising extrusion processes to optimize output, quality, and timelines. Additionally, you will monitor machine performance closely and collaborate with maintenance teams to minimize downtime while improving production efficiency by reducing waste and enhancing cycle times.
In addition to operational management, this role involves team leadership responsibilities where you will manage, train, and motivate a team of operators and assistants on assigned shifts. Conducting shift handovers, performance reviews, and team meetings will be essential in ensuring alignment with production goals. You will also address discipline issues promptly while fostering a culture of accountability and discipline among team members.
Quality assurance is paramount in our operations; as such, you will enforce adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure all products meet quality standards. Regular checks on systems, processes, products, machinery settings, and documentation will be conducted diligently. Moreover, your ability to implement root cause analyses and preventative measures when faced with non-conformances is critical in maintaining high-quality standards.
