Production & Operations Manager

Sovereign Foods Ltd, a national supplier of quality chicken products in South Africa, is looking for two dedicated individuals to join their team as Production & Operations Managers for their Hatchery operations in the Agriculture division. At Sovereign, we are committed to providing excellent quality chicks at a budget cost to various markets across the country. We value individuals who have a tertiary degree in an agricultural or commercial field and possess a background in agriculture at a tertiary level.

As a Production & Operations Manager, your primary responsibility will be to ensure cost control by limiting and reducing wastage through optimal utility recording and management. You will need to analyze monthly Hatchery Operational and Maintenance costs to understand their impact on our overall day-old chick price. It is essential to maintain a thorough understanding of the Hatchery Standard Operating Procedures Manual and adhere strictly to best practices. Managing the supply chain from receiving eggs to placement will also be part of your role, including updating Placement Schedule DOC’s daily with internal and external hatcheries and contract farmers.
