We are looking for a Supply Chain and Operations Manager to join our team at Wabtec South Africa Technologies Pty (Ltd) in Johannesburg.
Reporting to the Corporate Vice President, Operational Excellence, you will play a crucial role in driving regional operational performance metrics such as safety, quality, on-time delivery, and profitability of Wabtec’s Freight Services Products for key customers in Sub-Saharan African Region within the freight rail industry. To excel in this role, you should possess a degree in engineering or related discipline along with experience in heavy manufacturing operational repair and re-manufacturing of industrialized products. Leadership skills are essential as you will be responsible for building and leading teams of skilled professionals while managing customer and supplier interactions.
Your typical day will involve driving cost efficiencies and inventory improvements to support sales targets by managing costs effectively. You will align cross-functional teams to execute strategic initiatives and lead monthly SIOP cycles for effective communication. Managing key supplier relationships will be crucial to align business performance with customer needs while supporting regional legislative requirements. Additionally, developing supply chain strategies aligned with global goals and overseeing quality management processes will be part of your responsibilities.
