Position Overview:

The Senior Accountant will take responsibility for financial operations related to both fiat and cryptocurrency, ensuring accurate financial reporting in line with IFRS standards and delivering insights through FP&A reporting. The ideal candidate should have a mix of traditional accounting expertise and familiarity with the crypto space, with a focus on accuracy, compliance, and data-driven financial management. Experience with SQL or other data tools is a plus.



Key Responsibilities:

Financial Reporting: Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with IFRS standards, including crypto-related transactions, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
Crypto Accounting: Manage the accounting and financial tracking of digital assets, handling their valuation, reporting, and related transactions in wallets, exchanges, and custody platforms.
FP&A Reporting: Support financial planning and analysis (FP&A) by preparing detailed reports, forecasts, and financial models, enabling data-driven decision-making across the organization.
Reconciliation: Perform regular reconciliations of both fiat and cryptocurrency accounts, ensuring transparency and accuracy in financial records.
Regulatory Compliance: Ensure the company complies with relevant crypto-related regulatory requirements (e.g., VARA, AML/KYC), and support the finance team during audits.
Tax Reporting: Handle tax compliance and reporting for crypto transactions, addressing capital gains, income recognition, and VAT implications.
Cost Monitoring: Assist in budgeting, cost tracking, and forecasting for crypto-related expenses, including exchange and custody fees.
Collaboration: Work with finance, compliance, and technical teams to integrate cryptocurrency transactions into the company’s financial processes.
SQL & Data Tools: Utilize SQL or other data tools to extract and analyse data for financial reporting, improving insights and operational efficiency.
Process Improvement: Develop and implement improved accounting procedures and controls for managing digital assets and fiat transactions, ensuring accuracy and risk mitigation.


Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
7+ years of experience in accounting, with at least 2 years working in cryptocurrency or blockchain.
Strong understanding of IFRS standards, especially as they relate to digital assets.
Experience preparing FP&A reports, with strong financial modelling and forecasting skills.
Familiarity with cryptocurrency transactions, blockchain technology, and crypto custody solutions.
Knowledge of SQL or other data tools is a strong plus.
Proficiency in accounting software, ERP systems, and financial reporting tools.
Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a problem-solving mindset.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
Knowledge of regulatory frameworks (AML/KYC, FATF) and tax implications for crypto transactions.
