We are looking to hire an Manager- Finance reporting who will be responsible journal entry, intercompany, general ledger reconciliation, and statutory reporting activities. The role will also support the Director – Statutory Reporting through continuous improvement and optimisation of existing processes, for our Client based in Dubai- which is one of the largest companies in the region.


This position is a short-term contract role with a duration of 4 months (renewable based on performance)



The role sits within the Finance Department and reports directly to the
Director - Statutory Reporting.



Key Responsibilities:



Oversee and monitor the internal finance team to ensure strict adherence to established processes, guidelines, and protocols for journal entry, intercompany transactions, general ledger reconciliation, and statutory reporting activities, consistently meeting set standards and protocols within agreed-upon SLAs.
Collaborate closely with the Director of Statutory Reporting and General Ledger to track and achieve key performance indicators, identify operational gaps in team goals, and provide guidance to internal teams to facilitate goal attainment.
Assist the Director in reviewing finance function activities and guiding internal teams in the implementation of process improvements within the statutory reporting function.
Oversee the month-end process for general ledger and intercompany financial transactions, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
Stay well-informed about the latest IFRS compliance requirements and communicate the impacts on existing financial activities.
Review recorded transactions for accuracy, ensuring alignment with prevailing financial reporting and accounting standards.
Deliver accurate and timely financial information to investors, including annual and quarterly reports within the Group Reporting pack.
Consult with legal teams to ensure that all statutory and regulatory reporting complies with applicable laws and regulations.




GL Reconciliation:

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to verify the accuracy of period-related expenses, accruals, prepayments, provisions, and other debit/credit balances.
Review reconciliation of trial balance accounts for the accounting period, addressing discrepancies and variances.
Monitor account closure governance activities across various accounting periods.
Provide guidance and oversight to internal teams involved in period close sub-ledgers and general ledger activities.
Review monthly GL and intercompany reconciliation activities, ensuring comprehensive reconciliation reports are generated.


Statutory Reporting:



Stay updated on the latest IFRS updates, including IFRS 7, 9, 13, 15, and 16, for all statutory reporting requirements.
Ensure the accurate preparation and review of standalone statutory reports and associated financial statements for all the entities, complying with IFRS, and submit them for review by relevant vertical finance stakeholders.
Ensure the accurate preparation and review of consolidated statutory reports and associated financial statements for all the entities, and submit them for review by vertical finance stakeholders.
Support financial audits by providing relevant information and clarifications to regulatory stakeholders and auditors.


Internal Controls & Governance:

Review internal controls and monitoring reports to ensure alignment with the organization policies and external regulations.
Uphold the risk assessment framework and checklists across all operations, systems, and processes, reviewing risk assessment outcomes and identifying necessary internal controls to mitigate vulnerabilities.






Qualifications:



Bachelors’ degree in Commerce / Business Administration (Finance)
Additional qualifications such as ACCA or ACA
Minimum of 5-8 years of experience in finance function, with at least 2 years of experience in leading teams
Strong understanding of Finance function and processes
Strong understanding of GL function and GL reconciliation management
Strong understanding of statutory reporting and regulations
Experience working in a finance shared services will be an advantage


Technical Competencies:



Strong knowledge of IFRS and recent updates/changes.
Strong analytical capabilities
Strong knowledge of accounting in industry conglomerates
Advanced word, Excel and power-point skills
Strong interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills


Availability:

Preference will be given to candidates available immediately after accepting the offer.
