The Company
Robert Half are working exclusively with a leading Real Estate business to recruit a Head of Finance.
The Role
Working closely with the GM in the formulation of Company's long-term strategy by providing inputs on the financial and business strategy to ensure that finance and necessary requirements are in line with the organizational strategy.
Present Business Plans and obtain approvals ensuring business plans are in line with the Companies strategic business directions and financial objectives to meet the present and future needs and objectives
The job holder is responsible to lead the Finance & Accounting function and provide partnering support across operations / sales / leasing for the designated asset classes
Oversee the overall financial performance of the organisation and work closely with the Head of the Asset class on projects and other related operational activities which require financial analysis, consolidation / performance reporting to drive performance outcomes
Act as a key business partner, working closely with internal stakeholders (senior management, operations and other departments), in providing timely support and information, and also establishing clear channels of communication with external stakeholders (suppliers, banks, auditors etc.).
Ensure Tax compliance and through adequate set-up of books and records, and assure transactions are correctly recorded and reported and submitted in accordance to UAE Federal Tax Authority Law
Oversee the development of the financial and accounting policies and procedures
Provide advice on finance compliance issues, corrective actions for smooth leverage and functioning of the business
Provide support to Head-Asset / Asset management team to inform key decisions on property disposal, demolition and refurbishment
Manage the audit process, the revenue recognition, credit collection function for the designated assets
Lead the budgeting process and provide analytical interpretation, commentary on spend, budget utilization, and continuously improve the budgeting and monthly reporting processes
Implement and comply with the Company's Corporate Governance, Internal controls (such as the Delegation Of Authorities, Gates Process, etc.), Policies, Procedures & Guidelines
Act as prime contact of internal audit and ensure proper coordination between the teams and ensure timely submission of information and closure/address audit findings with agreed timeline/action required.

The Candidate
Master's Degree (in Finance); professional certification such as ACA/ACCA/CPA - ICWAI, CPA are preferred
A minimum of 15 years of post-qualification experience in the fields of accounting, finance, tax and treasury with focus on operational finance within a medium size to large organisation
Sound IFRS knowledge, especially around investment property, leasing and revenue recognition
