As a Specialist in Finance and Accounting at Hapag-Lloyd, you will be responsible for managing and overseeing various financial tasks related to the Arabian Gulf region. This includes preparing and managing financial statements, working with auditors for external audits, reviewing Profit and Loss statements, conducting monthly and quarterly financial reviews with variance analysis, ensuring compliance with tax regulations such as Value Added Tax (VAT), monitoring lease agreements based on IFRS 16 Leases Standard, analyzing internal and commercial waivers, conducting financial analysis for revenue optimization, profit improvement, and working capital, evaluating risks across countries in scope, developing budgets and financial reports, collaborating with internal audit teams, building relationships with external business partners and industry experts, as well as assisting in policy implementation.
The ideal candidate for this position should have at least 5 years of experience in the shipping industry with a degree in Accounting or Finance. Strong analytical skills, proficiency in user application systems such as SAP, FIS, Qlikview / QlikSense, MS Office (especially Excel), process knowledge & systems support optimization are essential. The successful candidate should also demonstrate the ability to process data accurately under pressure and have an understanding of data quality benchmarking and management.
