Chief Accountant

Charterhouse Middle East, a financial services company based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, is currently seeking a Chief Accountant to join their small regional team. As an Assistant Manager level role, the Chief Accountant will report directly to the Managing Director and play a crucial part in developing financial operations and long-term growth strategies for the organization.

The responsibilities of the Chief Accountant include overseeing all financial reporting, conducting financial analysis for budgetary control, cost management, and demand planning. Additionally, this role involves managing statutory and compliance-based reporting in alignment with IFRS standards, VAT regulations, and Corporate Tax requirements. Given the retail nature of the organization, the Chief Accountant will also be responsible for working capital management, inventory control, cash flow optimization, receivables management, and liquidity reporting.

To qualify for this position, candidates must hold a qualification as a Chartered Accountant (ACA, ACCA or CPA) with at least five years of post-qualification experience. The ideal candidate should possess strong technical skills in reporting (IFRS), financial analysis capabilities using Excel, commercial understanding, business acumen, and effective communication skills. Moreover, candidates with knowledge of retail/hospitality sectors and familiarity with financial services governance under the UAE Central Bank are preferred.
