Market and Finance Risk Manager

FreedX, a dynamic start-up cryptocurrency exchange based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, is currently seeking a skilled and proactive Market and Finance Risk Manager (MRM) to join our team. As the MRM, you will report directly to the Chief Risk Officer (CRO) and play a crucial role in identifying, assessing, and managing market and financial risks associated with our trading activities and overall financial position. We are looking for someone with a deep understanding of cryptocurrency markets, financial risk management principles, and the ability to implement risk control measures effectively in a fast-paced start-up environment.

As the Market and Finance Risk Manager at FreedX, your key responsibilities will include conducting regular risk assessments to identify potential threats and vulnerabilities, developing quantitative risk models to measure and monitor risks, overseeing risk management processes for trading activities such as position limits and stop-loss mechanisms, monitoring liquidity risk to ensure operational needs are met, performing in-depth market analysis to identify trends and risks in cryptocurrency markets, preparing comprehensive risk reports for stakeholders, conducting stress tests to assess extreme market conditions' impact on the company's financial position, and developing strategies to mitigate identified risks.

The ideal candidate for this role should have a minimum of 5 years of experience in market or financial risk management within the cryptocurrency or financial services industry. A Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or a related field is required. Advanced degrees such as an MBA or MSc in Financial Engineering or professional certifications like FRM or CFA are considered a plus. Strong analytical skills, proficiency in risk management software and financial modeling tools, excellent understanding of cryptocurrency markets and trading mechanisms, knowledge of financial regulations and best practices in risk management are essential for success in this role.
