Our client, a prominent UAE-based structural steel company, is seeking a dedicated Structural Design Engineer to join their team in Dubai. As a Structural Design Engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing and analyzing steel structures for various building and industrial projects. Your responsibilities will include conducting detailed calculations, connection designs, and managing approval processes with contractors, clients, and consultants. Additionally, you will be tasked with reviewing shop drawings in Tekla and AutoCAD, overseeing the modelling and detailing team, and creating technical drawings and specifications for construction projects.
To excel in this role, you must possess a bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering or a related field. You should have a minimum of 3+ years of design experience with knowledge in fabrication, erection activities, and large-scale construction projects. Proficiency in structural design software such as STADD PRO, ETABS, AutoCAD, Revit, SAP is essential for this position. Familiarity with American and British Steel Design Codes is also required. Ideally, you should hold a Professional Engineer (P.E.) license.
Collaboration is key in our work culture; therefore, you will be expected to work closely with architects and contractors to provide guidance to junior engineers. Effective communication skills are vital as you will need to articulate design concepts and proposals to clients and stakeholders. Site inspections will also be part of your responsibilities to ensure strength, stability, and compliance with industry standards and regulations.
