As the Chief Accountant, you will be responsible for overseeing the execution of accounting policies, preparing financial statements, managing budgeting processes, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements within the gold/diamond industry in the UAE. Your key responsibilities will include preparing consolidated and individual financial statements, cash flow statements, and gold flow statements for the group. Additionally, you will be tasked with filing VAT returns for the group and analyzing data to support strategic decision-making by owners and sales managers.
To excel in this role, you must possess strong leadership skills to effectively manage a team of accounting professionals. The ability to work under pressure and introduce innovative methodologies will be crucial for success in this position. Excellent communication skills are essential for reporting and explaining financial data to senior management and stakeholders. A Bachelor's Degree in Accounting is required, with CMA/CPA certification preferred. You should have at least 10 years of experience in accounting, including 4 years in a leadership role within the jewellery/gold/diamond industry.
