Financial Controller

Al Futtaim Group, a prominent player in the real estate industry in the UAE, is seeking a Financial Controller to join their team. As a Financial Controller at Al Futtaim Real Estate UAE, you will play a crucial role in ensuring operational and financial control within the organization. Reporting directly to the Director Finance - UAE, you will lead the controllership function and collaborate with senior management on various financial aspects such as market trend analysis, accounting, audits, strategic planning, budgeting, and forecasting. Your role will involve bridging the gap between operational finance teams and corporate real estate finance to ensure alignment on governance, business planning, funding decisions, investment strategies, taxation matters, and shareholder reporting. The ideal candidate for this position is a commercially savvy leader with strong managerial skills and a keen eye for compliance and precision.

In this role, your responsibilities will include overseeing corporate governance across all AFGRE properties. You will be tasked with reviewing and refining processes and policies as necessary to ensure smooth operations. Additionally, you will support the Director Finance in addressing corporate governance issues by working on Delegation of Authority (DOA) matrix, Key Operating Guidelines (KOGs), internal controls, and compliance with Commercial Companies Law. You will also be responsible for enhancing AFGRE's financial and management reporting by standardizing processes such as cash flow forecasting and bank modeling. Furthermore, you will play a key role in coordinating the 3-Year Plan and budget process across UAE entities while ensuring timely completion of external audits with no adjustment entries.

As a Financial Controller at Al Futtaim Real Estate UAE, you will have the opportunity to work closely with Regional and Group Treasury to prepare bank funding models and business plans that support funding proposals. Your role will also involve managing compliance with existing funding covenants and coordinating requests for waivers in collaboration with Group Treasury. Moreover, you will review tax exposure across different geographies including the UAE and develop efficient tax strategies accordingly.
