Our company, a leading player in the manufacturing, contracting, and steel fabrication industry in the United Arab Emirates, is currently looking for a skilled Senior Accountant to join our dynamic finance team. As a Senior Accountant, you will play a crucial role in overseeing various accounting functions to ensure the financial health of our organization and drive business performance.
The Senior Accountant will be responsible for a range of key tasks including financial reporting and analysis in compliance with GAAP or IFRS standards, cost accounting to monitor manufacturing costs and provide recommendations for efficiency improvements, budgeting and forecasting collaboration with management to maintain financial targets, general ledger oversight ensuring accurate journal entries and reconciliation of accounts as necessary, inventory management to track inventory levels accurately report financial statements. Additionally, this role involves implementing internal controls to safeguard company assets, supporting tax compliance activities such as VAT preparation and filing, preparing reports for stakeholders to aid decision-making processes, and providing leadership by mentoring junior staff.
To be successful in this role, candidates must hold a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance with CMA/CA-Inter certification being preferred. A minimum of 8 years of accounting experience is required with at least 3 years specifically within manufacturing, contracting or steel fabrication environments. Proficiency in accounting software such as SAP or Oracle is essential along with strong knowledge of cost accounting principles and inventory management practices. Strong communication skills are necessary to explain complex financial information effectively while demonstrating excellent attention to detail and problem-solving abilities under pressure.
