Filtrona, a global leader in designing, testing, and manufacturing specialized filter solutions and related scientific services, is seeking a Senior Accountant to join their team in Dubai. As the Senior Accountant at Filtrona's Dubai site, you will play a crucial role in the financial management of the trading business. You will work closely with the Financial Controller and various functions to ensure accurate accounting, reporting, forecasting, budgeting, internal controls, compliance, audit, tax, and treasury functions are maintained.
In this role, you will be responsible for preparing timely and accurate full set accounting and reporting for the business. This includes collaborating with different departments on proper accounting treatment such as revenue recognition and Opex/Capex classification. Additionally, you will be involved in preparing monthly reconciliations of balance sheet items, adjustments entries and provisions, variance analysis vs Forecast and Budget to the Finance Manager. Your role will also encompass supporting internal/external audits by providing necessary information and evidence required while ensuring compliance with statutory requirements like corporate income tax and GST.
Furthermore, as the Senior Accountant at Filtrona's Dubai site, you will work on internal controls by ensuring adherence to controls checklist each month to meet compliance requirements. You will also be responsible for improving processes and controls in line with the Group’s Internal Control Framework while working towards forecasting and budgeting goals by collaborating with other functions to prepare forecasts and budgets effectively.
The ideal candidate for this position should hold a degree in Accounting with at least 2 years of audit experience in an international accounting firm along with 7 years of experience as an Accountant/Senior Accountant managing a full set of books in a trading company. Proficiency in IFRS standards is essential along with hands-on experience using Cognos Controller and Planning Analytics. Strong organizational skills coupled with the ability to work independently are crucial for success in this role. If you possess good communication skills along with knowledge of Corporate Tax and VAT UAE Laws while being proficient in MS Excel and Fourth Shift ERP system knowledge would be advantageous.
