Senior Accountant

Home Bakery, a renowned bakery chain in the United Arab Emirates, is looking for a Senior Accountant to join our dynamic team. As we continue to expand across the Middle East, we are seeking a dedicated individual to oversee the general accounting operations of our subsidiaries with a focus on the general ledger and procure-to-pay cycles.

Reporting directly to the accounts manager, the Senior Accountant will play a crucial role in supporting month-end and year-end close processes, maintaining accurate books and records, and submitting monthly reporting packages at entity and group levels. This position will involve cash flow forecasting, variance analysis, financial statement preparation, audit support for statutory compliance, as well as coordination with functional department heads on procurement activities. Additionally, the Senior Accountant will assist with VAT audits and returns while recommending modifications to accounting systems for improved efficiency.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance along with professional certifications such as CPA. With at least 5 years of proven experience as an accountant in customer-facing industries like retail or F&B, candidates should possess thorough knowledge of GAAP, strong numerical skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in SAP. • Proven experience of 5 years as an accountant in retail
• Proven experience of 5 years as an accountant in F&B
• Proven experience of 5 years as an accountant in trade services
• Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• Professional Certification such as CPA preferred
• Relevant accounting certification will be preferred

• Support month-end and year-end close process
• Monthly submission of reporting packages at entity and group level
• Cash flow forecasting and monthly variance analysis
• Financial Statement Preparation and audit support to ensure statutory compliance

• Thorough knowledge of accounting procedures
• Understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
