Chief Accountant

Our client, a leading company in Dubai's financial sector, is looking for a highly skilled and experienced Chief Accountant to join their Finance Department. As the Chief Accountant, you will play a crucial role in overseeing all accounting operations to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies. This full-time, on-site position requires someone who can prepare financial statements, manage budgeting and forecasting, supervise the accounting team, coordinate audits, and implement efficient accounting processes. Your insights into financial performance will be vital in supporting strategic decision-making by senior management.

Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and financial reporting.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements following GAAP guidelines.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
- Manage budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis to support strategic decision-making.
- Supervise the accounting team to foster a collaborative and high-performance culture.
- Coordinate audits and work closely with external auditors.
- Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures to enhance efficiency.
- Monitor and analyze financial performance to provide insights and recommendations to senior management.
- Maintain accurate records and ensure timely reconciliation of all accounts.

Qualifications:
To excel in this role, you must have:
- Fluency in English and Russian (both written and spoken).
- A Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance; professional qualifications like ACCA or CPA are preferred.
- 8-10 years of experience in accounting with at least 3 years in a leadership role as a Chief Accountant or equivalent.
- Experience with ERP systems like FirstBit ERP or 1C Database along with data migration projects.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting standards, and UAE tax regulations.
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to manage teams effectively.
- Strong analytical skills coupled with problem-solving abilities.
- Attention to detail ensuring high levels of accuracy in work output.
- Effective communication skills across various departments within the organization.
