In this role, the Technical Director will be responsible for leading and overseeing the engineering, R&D, IT, and quality departments. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, the successful candidate will manage 10 direct reports across key technical functions. Key responsibilities include driving high-quality product development and innovation, optimizing product performance through R&D initiatives, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and standards, managing technical projects from design to execution efficiently, providing expert guidance to key clients, staying abreast of industry trends for competitive advantage, and upholding the highest health & safety standards across operations.
The ideal candidate will have senior-level experience in a technical/engineering role within manufacturing or related industries. Strong leadership skills combined with strategic thinking abilities are essential along with extensive knowledge of ventilation, fire protection or similar product sectors. Experience in notified body management and audit protocols is required as well as excellent stakeholder engagement skills for client-facing interactions. A degree in Engineering or related field is highly desirable for this position.
