We are currently seeking a dedicated Director of Engineering to join our team and lead our maintenance department with precision and expertise.
As the Director of Engineering at VOCO Hotels, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the daily engineering needs of our property. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure that the right team members are always assigned to the appropriate tasks, maintaining a proactive approach to address any maintenance challenges that may arise. You will be tasked with developing and implementing a comprehensive maintenance program that prioritizes the safety, security, and comfort of our guests, creating an environment where they can truly relax and enjoy their stay. In addition to managing day-to-day operations related to maintenance, repair, security, and servicing, you will also need to supervise a diverse team of maintenance staff, tradespeople, and contractors within our luxurious resort setting.
To excel in this role, we require that you possess some college or advanced vocational training along with at least four years of experience in general building maintenance or construction. Specialized expertise in plumbing, electrical systems, mechanical operations, and carpentry is essential for success in this position. Additionally, holding certifications such as Level 3 EPA Certification, HVAC and refrigeration certificates, or licensed plumber/journeyman status for electrician/carpenter roles may be necessary. While previous experience in the hotel industry is preferred, we welcome candidates who demonstrate exceptional skills and knowledge in engineering management.
