Equal Aqua is an award-winning NGO dedicated to providing equal access to water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) in Uganda. Our international team of volunteers, based mainly in the UK and Uganda, works tirelessly to ensure that communities have access to safe and sustainable WASH facilities and services. We focus on supporting schools and communities facing the greatest WASH inequalities, addressing issues related to wealth, gender, and ethnicity. Our innovative approach involves producing rainwater harvesting tanks made sustainably using "ecobricks", which are upcycled plastic bottles. We aim not only to provide accessible water sources but also to tackle local environmental challenges such as plastic pollution.
To further promote WASH advocacy within the community, we conduct various classes and workshops aimed at providing entrepreneurial and practical skills to rural communities. By empowering young people with the necessary tools, we strive to create WASH changemakers who can drive positive change within their communities.
We are currently seeking a Part-time Communications Manager (Volunteer) to join our team. The ideal candidate will be a dedicated, passionate, and innovative individual who can lead our communications team effectively. As a member of Equal Aqua's global team, you will work remotely on a voluntary basis. Key responsibilities include leading the development, delivery, and evaluation of external and internal communications strategies aligned with our vision and values. You will oversee public communication channels such as social media and websites while collaborating closely with fundraising and programs teams to enhance stakeholder communication.
If you are a talented communicator with experience in designing comms campaigns, highly motivated with proven success in demand creation campaigns using various marketing techniques, then we encourage you to apply for this role. You should possess excellent interpersonal skills for building relationships with key partners effectively while maintaining the established branding of Equal Aqua through imaginative visuals.
