As a B Corp™, we are committed to connecting talented individuals with purpose-driven organizations. Our client is seeking a Head of Engineering for an initial 3-6 month remote-first contract. While the role offers flexibility to work from anywhere in the UK, occasional travel to our northern office will be required (with expenses covered).
The ideal candidate for this position will possess strong technical expertise, particularly in software and data architecture, along with exceptional coaching skills. Collaborating closely with the head of product, you will lead by example to inspire and drive positive change within the team. We are looking for a people-friendly leader who can earn respect through a balanced approach of interpersonal skills and technical proficiency.
We are eager to kickstart this opportunity promptly to maintain momentum, giving preference to candidates available immediately or on short notice. To qualify for consideration, you must demonstrate a proven track record of coaching engineering teams and improving performance, as well as a solid understanding and capability in technical architecture. Familiarity with modern JavaScript technologies such as React, Node, Typescript, and AWS (Microservices/Serverless) is essential, even if not actively coding on a daily basis. Previous experience in an established b2b SaaS business, especially within a highly regulated sector, would be advantageous.
