The Carter Center, a renowned non-profit organization based in Atlanta, Georgia, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Country Representative (SCR) for its operations in South Sudan. The SCR will work closely with the Vice President of Overseas Operations and Program Directors to support various programs including Guinea Worm Eradication, Trachoma Control, River Blindness Elimination, and Lymphatic Filariasis programs. This role involves strategic planning, program implementation, budgeting, and ensuring that TCC's interests are well-represented and managed in South Sudan. The SCR will collaborate with national and international stakeholders such as the Ministry of Health, UN organizations, donors, NGOs, and others to advance program goals effectively.

As the SCR for South Sudan, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of program operations within the country. This includes developing policies specific to South Sudan, liaising with governmental agencies and NGOs, managing budgets, negotiating contracts with vendors/consultants, conducting research on program-related topics, and providing leadership to locally recruited personnel. Additionally, you will be tasked with maintaining necessary records and reports while ensuring compliance with organizational standards. The ideal candidate should possess a bachelor's degree related to the program area along with at least seven years of relevant experience.

Candidates with a master's degree in public health or related fields are preferred. Experience working on Neglected Tropical Diseases like Guinea worm or Trachoma is highly desirable. Previous NGO or CSO experience would be beneficial for this role. Strong leadership skills coupled with strategic planning abilities are essential to effectively manage diverse teams across multiple projects/programs in high-pressure situations.
