Position Summary:
The Controller is responsible for a comprehensive, accurate, and compliant set of general ledgers and the production of financial statements. The role also leads and is responsible for Mexcor’s Shared Services teams which provide Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Treasury services for the entire portfolio of businesses. The Controller will be the primary point of contact for all Treasury, Audit, and Regulatory Reporting related to their assigned companies.
Role Responsibilities:
Perform all journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations necessary for general ledger monthly close of assigned companies.
Provide insightful and thorough monthly P&L and Balance Sheet MD&A reviews with senior leadership.
Primary point of contact for and lead/maintain all 3rd party Tax and Audit engagements and deliverables for assigned companies.
Oversee and coordinate banking relationships and treasury activities for assigned companies.
Lead the annual operating budget planning cycle for assigned companies.
Deliver high-performing shared services operations to the entire portfolio of companies (AP, AR, and Collections).
Hire, train, support, and review staff as needed to ensure high performing teams.
Lead by example a continuous process improvement and automation environment enabled by the company's ERP and other complimentary technology solutions.
Implement and maintain appropriate safeguards for company receipts and expenditures.
Establish operating benchmarks, annual shared services budgets, and shared services performance reporting on weekly, monthly, and annual basis.
Implement consistent and compliant general ledger accounting policies, practices, and procedures.
Develop and enforce internal controls to maximize protection of company assets.
Lead with dynamic leadership that creates an environment of trust and productivity.
Qualifications and Experience:
Ten or more years of Finance & Accounting experience.
Six or more years in a Finance & Accounting leadership role, preferably as an Asst Controller or Controller leading teams in the areas of general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and audit.
Demonstrated success in leading financial project management, process improvement, and technology initiatives within the Office of the CFO.
Strong understanding of financial and accounting standards and regulations.
Strong understanding of banking processes, ABL lending, bank covenants, etc.
Acumen for report writing, data analysis, and applying knowledge and logic to financial trends in order to provide insightful perspective and strategic solutions.
Strong competency with ERP systems and aptitude to master new ERP systems quickly.
Working knowledge of state and local tax regulations and compliance reporting, preferred.
Excellent communication skills.
Exceptional customer service aptitude.
