Senior Manager - Finance and Accounting

Airswift is working in partnership with a publicly traded manufacturer of nonwovens as roll goods for wipes as well as for medical and hygiene products, which is currently looking to hire a Senior Manager, Finance & Accounting for their facility in South Carolina.


This position is a replacement role. The role is key in ensuring that financial figures are submitted to HQ in Europe, correctly and on time. The individual will also be a key business partner to the Plant Director, and support with costing of the product produced at the facility. The individual will not need to deal with accounts receivables & payables or need to prepare income taxes.


Job Responsibilities:

Manage a team of finance professionals in a subsidiary to ensure that finance and control activities are completed accurately and on time
Directs and monitors a variety of finance and control activities to ensure that the subsidiary's financial resources are managed in accordance with principles and comply with all relevant regulations, laws, and standards and group accounting principles and instructions.
Manages, analyzes, interprets, and reports financial information for function and manufacturing use and advises on the financial implications and consequences of business decisions. Participates in accounting (also transactional accounting)
Analyzes financial and other relevant information to inform key strategic decisions in a plant and supports the formulation of plant business strategies and works with other function managers to put the finance view in context
Implements corporate governance procedures, risk management and internal controls and communicates these across the subsidiary
Coordinates and participates in the monthly accounting closing process, plant reporting and analysis, corporate format reporting and reporting of financial results within guidelines of govt. agencies and accounting policies using GAAP and International Financial Reporting Standards.
Participates in transactional finance work.
Oversee/perform the cost accounting and analysis function.
Establishes, reviews and maintains adequate systems of internal controls and procedures.
Approve the payment of accounts payable and payroll and ensure compliance with company policies.
Ensures integrity and value of receivables as reported on the balance sheet.
Preparation of plant Business Plan and Annual Plan financials, and quarterly entity-level forecasting.
Responsible for the preparation of weekly cash flow forecasts and monthly financial projections.
Manage assigned staff. Provide coaching, mentoring and regular feedback. Prepare and conduct performance reviews. Develop goals and objectives for the functional area. Identify process improvements and implement changes as needed.
Coordinate and liaison with external auditors.
Contributing member of the site management team, providing strong support to the site Plant Director.
Control and analysis of site fixed costs and working capital.
Provide/oversee production and cost variance analysis, assure/prepare proper costing of new and existing products, update standard costs as required to approximate actual.
Responsible for inventory controls and reconciliations, coordinating inventory cycle counting.
Key SAP system user.


Required Experience:

5+ years of increasingly progressive accounting experience in general and cost accounting functions in a manufacturing environment.
Prior management experience
Experience in legal entity accounting (P/L and balance sheet; financial statements)
Diligent with reporting, ensuring both accuracy and timely submittal according to deadlines
Ability to work as a strategic partner with the plant leadership
Experienced beyond business control, specifically with a financial background
Ability to work cross-functionally and delegate tasks when appropriate
Flexibility to join early morning calls
Experience working with SAP
Cost Accounting
Prior experience driving/ recommending cost-saving initiatives
Experience analyzing sales for a manufacturing plant
