Job Description
As the Director - Financial Engineering at Fannie Mae, you will lead a team responsible for applying financial models and tools to optimize capital efficiency in structuring Credit Risk Transfer (CRT) deals for Fannie Mae’s single-family business. Your role involves managing a CRT analytics group, collaborating with stakeholders to enhance deal issuance, and providing strategic guidance on CRT integration into capital planning activities.
Responsibilities
- Utilize analytics tools to optimize CRT structures and manage model development aligned with governance standards
- Present financial implications of CRT to senior management for capital optimization strategies
- Foster relationships across finance, SF business, and analytics user community
- Stay informed on structured product trends and regulatory risk transfers to inform future structuring decisions
- Develop and oversee a diverse team focused on modelling structured products, coding, and financial analysis
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- 8+ years of financial analysis experience
- Leadership experience in analytics supporting business decision-making
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
Desired Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred
- Expertise in structured products within the mortgage space
- Knowledge of Fannie Mae’s credit risk transfer program and mortgage performance modeling
- Experience implementing financial models in large financial institutions
- Understanding of regulatory capital requirements
