Vice President of Engineering

We are currently seeking a Vice President of Engineering to join our executive team and lead our engineering department through its next phase of growth. Reporting directly to the CEO, the VP of Engineering will oversee a team of approximately 20 engineers, technicians, machinists, and contractors with expectations for this headcount to double over the next year. The ideal candidate must possess both technical expertise in engine and generator development as well as strong leadership skills to effectively manage this passionate team.

Responsibilities for this role include leading engine and generator development programs, providing technical direction, managing resources effectively, co-authoring technical papers and proposals, engaging with existing and potential customers in meetings, and ensuring successful commercialization of products. The VP of Engineering should have experience in rotary/diesel engine development, heavy fuel engine calibration expertise, power generation electronics knowledge (alternators, batteries, PLC), as well as previous exposure to government agencies like DOE or DARPA.

The successful candidate will also exhibit personal qualities such as excellent team management skills, quick decision-making abilities, proactive problem-solving approach, strong presentation skills for various stakeholders including board members and investors. A BS in Mechanical Engineering is required for this position with an MSME or Ph.D. preferred.
