As a company at the forefront of innovation, we are seeking a proactive and hands-on Head of Engineering to join our team. Located in the vibrant SoMa district, this role requires your presence onsite five days a week.
As the Head of Engineering, you will play a pivotal role in driving engineering velocity, reliability, and quality by leveraging data-driven KPIs and continuous improvement initiatives. Your responsibilities will include spearheading technical architecture decisions, actively contributing to the codebase, and creating scalable processes for testing, deployment, and monitoring of critical systems. Additionally, you will be instrumental in shaping our engineering recruitment process and hiring strategy while collaborating closely with the CEO and product lead to define product strategy and technical vision.
The ideal candidate for this role possesses 6-15 years of software engineering experience with at least 2 years managing multiple teams of 5-15+ engineers in start-ups. You should have a proven track record of scaling engineering teams from 0-50+, hands-on coding expertise in NodeJS, Typescript, React, AWS, and experience in developing product roadmaps. A product-minded approach that balances technical decisions with business needs is essential.
