As the Head of Engineering at Guidewheel, you will be responsible for leading and scaling a full-stack engineering team that handles product engineering, platform engineering, QA, security, and infrastructure. Your role will involve ensuring technical excellence by conducting detailed code reviews and driving architectural improvements. You will oversee the execution of the engineering roadmap to deliver product features efficiently while attracting top engineering talent through effective hiring and talent management practices. Collaboration with the CTO on product design and management will be crucial in achieving cross-functional success across the organization.

The ideal candidate for this position should have a minimum of 10 years of experience in high-growth startup environments with at least 5 years as an engineering manager or director. A degree in Computer Science from a reputable institution is required along with expertise in scaling data-intensive distributed systems. Proficiency in Javascript (Node/Typescript/Vue) and cloud platforms (GCP) would be advantageous. Additionally, you should possess exceptional leadership qualities with a focus on collaboration, adaptability, and results-driven actions. Travel to San Francisco headquarters or customer sites may be required monthly.

Joining Guidewheel as the Head of Engineering offers competitive compensation ranging from $250,000 to $300,000 annually along with various benefits such as remote work flexibility, generous equity options, health benefits tailored to individual needs, 401k matching up to 4%, parental leave, company holidays pay plan setup allowance of $500 for home office equipment among others.
