The Director of Engineering will play a crucial role in providing strategic and operational leadership to our multi-disciplinary team covering Process, Mechanical, Civil, Structural, Electrical, and Controls engineering and design. This position involves leading the successful execution of engineering projects across various heavy industrial sectors through self-performed design-build project delivery along with engineering studies and external IFC packages. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise, exceptional communication skills, and a results-oriented approach while interfacing directly with clients.

Responsibilities include overseeing department growth and mentorship initiatives, providing strategic direction throughout the project lifecycle from feasibility studies to site engineering support during construction phases. The Director will be responsible for building client relationships by reviewing RFPs, formulating winning proposal strategies while leading engineering efforts within company pursuit teams. Additionally, responsibilities include forecasting budgeting processes for Engineering & Design departments along with fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, commitment to excellence.

Ideal candidates should hold a Bachelor's degree in relevant Engineering fields (Civil/Structural or Electrical preferred), Professional Engineer (PE) licensure preferred with over 15 years of progressive experience in heavy industrial engineering projects including leadership roles managing multi-disciplinary teams. Strong understanding of current commercial models used in engineering and construction along with excellent communication skills is essential. Advanced computer skills in Microsoft Word Excel Teams Outlook are required.

Key Job Requirements:
  • 15+ years of progressive experience in heavy industrial engineering projects
  • At least 5 years in a leadership role managing multi-disciplinary engineering teams
  • Experience delivering detailed design and IFC engineering packages for $20M-$250M TIC projects
  • Bachelor's degree in relevant Engineering field, Civil/Structural or Electrical preferred
  • Professional Engineer (PE) licensure preferred
  • Strong understanding of engineering and construction principles, codes and standards in the USA
