The Director of Engineering will play a crucial role in providing strategic leadership to our multi-disciplinary team comprising Process, Mechanical, Civil, Structural, Electrical, and Controls engineering and design. This position involves overseeing the successful execution of engineering projects across various heavy industrial sectors primarily focused on self-performed design-build project delivery. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise along with excellent communication skills to interact effectively with clients while leading the Engineering & Design department towards growth.

Key responsibilities include leading department capability growth, mentoring leadership teams within the department, providing strategic oversight throughout project lifecycles from feasibility studies to handover phases. The Director will also be responsible for building client relationships, formulating winning proposal strategies, reviewing RFPs, maintaining a pipeline of design projects while fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation within the organization. Additionally, this role requires managing multiple projects simultaneously while prioritizing effectively and promoting good customer relationships both internally and externally.

Key Job Requirements:
  • 15+ years of progressive experience in heavy industrial engineering projects
  • At least 5 years in a leadership role managing multi-disciplinary engineering teams
  • Experience delivering detailed design and IFC engineering packages for $20M-$250M TIC projects
  • Bachelor's degree in relevant Engineering field, Civil/Structural or Electrical preferred
  • Professional Engineer (PE) licensure preferred
  • Strong understanding of engineering and construction principles, codes, and standards in the USA
