As the Engineering Manager at OERTZENGroup, you will play a crucial role in leading technical production processes and integrating new activities with a team of skilled engineers. Reporting directly to the Director of Operations, you will oversee the extrusion manufacturing process and work closely with Process Engineers, the Research & Development Team, and the Production Team in our NY plant. Your responsibilities will include mentoring engineers, optimizing performance, managing projects for efficiency and safety improvements, overseeing project creation and management, as well as coordinating production trials for new developments.
Key responsibilities include leading and mentoring Process Engineers to optimize their performance, overseeing technical aspects of manufacturing processes to align with company goals, collaborating with departments for smooth operations, developing and enhancing manufacturing processes for safety and sustainability improvements. You will also be responsible for project creation and management to support company objectives, managing new production line budgets efficiently, coordinating production trials for new product developments successfully.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 10 years of engineering experience with at least 3 years as an Engineering Manager. A background in process, industrial or mechanical engineering is required along with proficiency in CAD software, technical writing skills, Microsoft Office suite (PowerPoint, Office365), physical capability to meet job requirements including lifting up to 60 lbs., ability to respond to emergency calls outside normal hours supporting a 24X7 facility. Preferred qualifications include experience in plastics manufacturing.
