As the VP of Engineering at Qunett, you will lead a team of experts in tackling technical challenges related to distributing quantum entanglement and scaling up quantum networks. This role offers a unique opportunity to make a lasting impact on the future of quantum technology by driving the technical strategy and execution of engineering efforts from lab-bench prototyping to field-deployable systems. You will work across engineering, research, and partnerships to align execution with our long-term vision while growing, leading, and managing a multi-functional engineering team.
Key responsibilities include evaluating architectural and scalability tradeoffs across quantum and classical subsystems, developing timelines and resource allocation plans, as well as serving as a technical representative in discussions with customers, partners, and collaborators. The ideal candidate will have 8+ years of engineering experience with at least 3 years in a technical leadership role. They should possess exceptional written and verbal communication skills along with the ability to clearly convey technical ideas to diverse stakeholders. A deep understanding of quantum networking concepts is required.
Preferred qualifications include a PhD in Physics or Electrical Engineering, hands-on experience with diamond-based color centers for quantum information applications, familiarity with experimental systems involving quantum optics and photonic entanglement generation and detection. Experience in startups or fast-moving deep tech environments is also desirable.
