We are currently seeking a Director of Controls Engineering who will play a pivotal role in leading the strategy for designing, implementing, operating, and optimizing our automated process control systems. The ideal candidate will bring a unique blend of state-of-the-art software expertise and traditional industrial controls knowledge to our industrial process plants. This position requires a strategic leader who can collaborate effectively with mechanical, chemical, and electrical teams to bring innovative automation solutions to life within our facilities.
Responsibilities for this role include leading the development and implementation of cutting-edge automation systems that combine custom software with traditional industrial controls. The Director will work closely with production, maintenance, and engineering teams to identify opportunities for automation improvements aimed at optimizing manufacturing operations or introducing new capabilities. Additionally, they will be responsible for ensuring compliance with industry standards and safety regulations while empowering engineers and operators with intuitive interfaces and robust data models to facilitate informed decision-making.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 10 years of experience in factory automation, with at least 5 years in a leadership role. They should possess strong knowledge of both traditional industrial automation systems (PLC, DCS) as well as modern embedded systems like real-time industrial PCs or DSPs. A passion for sustainability is essential for this role along with a bachelor's or master's degree in electrical engineering, chemical engineering, Mechatronics, Computer Science or related field.
