As the Plant Manager, you will be responsible for providing general management over manufacturing, engineering, materials, quality assurance/control, human resources, and information systems at the plant. Your primary focus will be on improving productivity, quality, and operational efficiency. You will manage the activities of the Manufacturing area while aligning with the organization's goals and objectives. Additionally, you will set and manage the plant budget and take a direct leadership approach in managing the site's P&L.
To excel in this role, you should possess a four-year college degree preferably in an engineering or metallurgy-related field along with 7+ years of experience in operations management or Manufacturing Engineering. You must have knowledge of existing manufacturing systems including computer systems, production processes, material flow schemes, quality systems, and process control techniques. Strong leadership skills are essential as you will define performance expectations for employees and coach them to meet job responsibilities effectively.
Furthermore, you should have practical understanding of industrial/manufacturing principles and disciplined problem-solving methods. Your ability to lead interdisciplinary activities in solving complex problems is crucial for success in this role. Effective communication skills both within the organization and with external stakeholders are vital.
