As the Director of Engineering, you will be responsible for leading and mentoring a team of electrical, systems, and product design engineers across various aerospace projects. Your role will involve overseeing the full product lifecycle for electrical components, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver cost-effective solutions on time, and ensuring compliance with aerospace standards and regulations.
Key responsibilities include establishing departmental KPIs, budgets, and staffing plans aligned with organizational goals. You will also lead efforts in engineering documentation, change management, design verification/validation, and support business development activities through technical assessments and feasibility reviews. Additionally, you will drive innovation in the design and integration of electrical systems for both manned and unmanned platforms.
To qualify for this position, you must have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field (PhD preferred) along with 10+ years of experience in electrical engineering roles within the aerospace industry. You should possess deep knowledge of aerospace-grade electrical components and systems as well as proven experience leading diverse engineering teams and complex product development programs.
Preferred skills include PMP Certification or equivalent project management training, knowledge of lean product development methodologies, experience in defense-related aerospace programs (ITAR-compliant development), and familiarity with aircraft electrical systems architecture.
